76 Israeli Hostages Still Held, Will the Ceasefire End? Hamas Retaliates to Trump’s Warning
Donald Trump: After accusing Hamas of violating the ceasefire, Donald Trump has issued a warning to the group. Trump stated that if Hamas does not release the 76 Israeli hostages by Saturday, he will propose ending the ceasefire. In response, Hamas has retaliated.
Gaza Ceasefire:
The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas continues. Under the ceasefire agreement, the process of releasing hostages and prisoners from both sides is ongoing. Meanwhile, Hamas has accused Israel of violating the truce agreement. The Palestinian group has warned that it may halt the release of hostages. In light of Hamas’s threat, U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning.
Trump made it clear to Hamas that if all 76 hostages taken in Gaza are not released by Saturday afternoon, he will propose ending the Israel-Hamas ceasefire. Tensions between Hamas and Israel over the ceasefire are escalating. Hamas has dismissed Trump’s warning as a threat.
Trump’s Firm Stance:
Trump stated that if all 76 hostages are not released by Saturday, he will end the ceasefire. He also said, “If the hostages are released gradually, it will not be acceptable. All must be released together.” When questioned about what action he would take against Hamas, Trump replied, “You will see, and Hamas will see too.” Meanwhile, Hamas has also retaliated.
Hamas’s Retaliation:
In response to Trump’s threat, Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri said that the U.S. should respect the peace agreement. He stated, “Threats will only complicate the situation further.” Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for Hamas’s military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement. He claimed that Israel prevented Palestinian civilians from returning to their homes and targeted them with airstrikes. He also alleged that Israel failed to comply with the agreement to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Israeli Army on High Alert:
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement. He stated that Donald Trump had said the decision to end the ceasefire would be Israel’s. If Hamas does not release the hostages by Saturday, it would be appropriate to terminate the agreement. He mentioned that the Israeli army has been placed on high alert for this purpose.
